The key is that the eggs must be opened in order to win the game. If the first child opens an egg that is not the first, they must close it and place it back in the middle. The second child does the same. Each time children must remember where that piece is while reviewing the parts of the Easter story each time.
When someone can open each in order sharing the Easter Story, everyone wins for a big treat! Make sure your Resurrection Eggs are not numbered or marked on the outside, and you may want to mix up the pieces in different color eggs than when you told the story.
This just depends on the age of your children and how much challenge they need. Another fun Easter game to play with Resurrection Eggs is to play a game of memory match. In half the eggs place a small object and in the other half of the eggs place a Scripture that goes with the item. Kids will open two eggs at a time hoping they match a Bible verse with the correct item.
What's inside the egg must be shown to all players. If they get a match, they get to hold on to the eggs. If they don't, they place the eggs back in the exact same spot and try to remember where they are for the next time. For younger children, use glow-in-the-dark Easter Eggs for the hunt. Take a glow stick bracelet or other small glow stick item and place in each egg. These can be their prizes at the end!
Depending on the age of the children, hide these glow-in-the-dark Easter Eggs in the open or inside, under, or behind objects. For older children, use regular Easter Eggs for a fun hunt in the dark. Give each child a flashlight to spotlight the eggs with as they find them! This is what we will be doing with our "kids" ages ! Depending on the weather and safety, these Christian Easter games may be done outside at night or inside a dark house or church building.
The main key is to point out to them that Jesus is the Light and has called us to be lights in this dark world! Memorizing one or more of the following Bible verses would be a great contest to win a prize and also hide not only eggs, but God's Word in the hearts of your kids:. Put one colored egg in the basket and continue on until you have one child left. You need to put a tarp down for this game but it is hilarious.
Also, if you have kids dressed in their Easter outfits, have the participants wear an inexpensive rain poncho to protect their garments. Kids should stand three feet apart and toss the raw egg to one another. Once that round is successful, have them take a step backwards and toss the egg again.
They keep tossing until the egg is broken. The person who missed loses. This game needs a start and finish line. But the body of Jesus was not in the tomb. The angel explained to them that Jesus had risen from the dead. Jesus is alive! Jesus is the Son of God. He came to earth to die on the cross to take the punishment for our sins. And on the third day, Jesus became alive again. Because Jesus died on the cross, our sins can be forgiven. We can be with God and have a relationship with him.
We can become his children and will one day be with him in heaven. Get Started 1. What is your favorite childhood memory of Easter. What Easter traditions do you currently observe?
