Jerome is an Early Church Father who wrote many commentaries on the Bible as well as letters, sermons, treatises, etc. He is an authoritative translator who translated the whole Bible from Hebrew and Greek into Latin, known as the Latin Vulgate.

This translation on Jerome's commentary was done by Robin MacGregor, who left it unpublished for 14 years, but has now allowed it to be published and made available.

This commentary is an excellent resource for Bible students at any level. It is filled with great insights for a better understanding of the book of Ecclesiastes. Jerome covers the entire text of Matthew's gospel by means of brief explanatory comments that clarify the text literally and historically.

Saint Jerome AD created the Vulgate translation, which was later declared to be the approved Latin version of the Bible by the Council of Trent The Douay-Rheims translation seeks to be faithful to the Vulgate, while also taking advantage of the original language manuscripts and other English translations. The translation was first published in New Testament and Old Testament , with various revisions occurring periodically over the following centuries, most significantly in the midth century by Bishop Richard Challoner.

This edition is based on the subsequent American edition and features single column text with 9 point font.
